Overview
Data reveal a significant under treatment of pain in children with cancer in the developed world. However, children and parents expect pain to be relieved and parents' greatest distress is failing to protect their child from pain. The younger children are, the less likely it is that they receive appropriate analgesia. This module describes pain in children with disease or under treatment, and discusses the application of WHO principles of pain management.

In support of improving patient care, the University of California, San Francisco Office of CME is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Cancellation Policy

Although each activity will have its own cancellation policy, in general, cancellations received in writing no less than 7 days prior to the start of an activity will be refunded, less a $75 administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests through our Refund Request form.

UCSF Office of CME reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets, hotel penalties, or other related personal expenses.
