The Pediatric Hospital Medicine Faculty Development Series is a longitudinal, year-round educational program designed to support the ongoing professional development of pediatric hospital medicine faculty and fellows. Through weekly interactive conferences, participants engage in clinical case discussions, critical appraisal of the medical literature, research works-in-progress, and quality, equity, and safety reviews. The series focuses on advancing excellence in clinical care, scholarship, quality improvement, patient safety, health equity, and health systems practice. Sessions provide opportunities to apply evidence-based medicine to complex clinical scenarios, strengthen skills in research methodology and interpretation, identify opportunities for systems improvement, and examine factors that contribute to inequities and patient harm. Participants are encouraged to incorporate new knowledge and best practices into patient care, educational activities, scholarly work, and operational leadership within pediatric hospital medicine.

Objective(s): 1 Apply current evidence and evidence-based guidelines to improve the evaluation and management of hospitalized children with complex clinical conditions. 2 Critically appraise medical literature and incorporate relevant findings into clinical decision-making, scholarly work, and educational activities. 3 Analyze patient safety events and systems factors to identify opportunities for improving the quality, safety, and reliability of care. 4 Implement strategies to recognize and mitigate bias, inequities, and structural barriers that affect healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. 5 Evaluate clinical, operational, and communication processes to identify opportunities for systems improvement within pediatric hospital medicine practice. 6 Design, implement, or assess quality improvement initiatives that address identified gaps in patient care, safety, equity, or healthcare delivery. 7 Apply principles of research methodology, quality improvement, and health systems science to advance scholarly activity and improve patient and system outcomes. 8 Apply effective communication and interprofessional collaboration strategies to improve patient care, care transitions, and coordination across healthcare settings.

Cancellations received in writing at least 30 days before the conference start date will receive a refund of registration fees minus a [10%] administrative fee. Requests received between 30 days and 14 days before the start date will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued within 14 days of the start date.
