This unique interdisciplinary conference is created for providers who care for children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities and complex health care needs. The activity will address ways to improve the quality of care provided to patients from perspectives that will benefit all members of the care team.

1. Improve systems of care for people with disabilities by considering social and cultural diversity and disparities, structural bias, and implications for access to quality healthcare
2. Improve interprofessional teamwork and community collaboration to effectively address gaps in care for people with developmental disabilities
3. Describe federal, regional and state organizations and policies relevant to access to health and related services
4. Review the range of novel and evidence-based approaches to the care of patients with autism, cerebral palsy and other neurodevelopmental disabilities
5. Apply methods to improve quality mental and behavioral health care for people with disabilities and their caregivers
6. Optimize health care outcomes for people with disabilities, especially during transition stages
7. Improve screening and access to care for learning disabilities
8. Discuss ways to support people with developmental disabilities to adapt to climate change
9. Describe innovations in reproductive healthcare, communication, and cancer care for people with developmental disabilities
10. Discuss the importance of, and strategies to enable, participation in the arts to support the wellbeing of children, youth and adults with disabilities

Live Stream Meeting:
This course will be offered as a virtual conference. Login instructions along with the digital syllabus will be shared with the attendees a week before the meeting. Included in your registration fee is access to the course recordings on demand after the conference and for 30 days after the course. You must tune in to the live conference (remotely) to claim CME.

Advance Practice Registered Nurses and Registered Nurses: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit^TM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.

Physician Assistants: The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) states that the AMA PRA Category 1 Credit^TM are acceptable for continuing medical education requirements for recertification.

California Pharmacists: The California Board of Pharmacy accepts as continuing professional education those courses that meet the standard of relevance to pharmacy practice and have been approved for AMA PRA category 1 Credit^TM. If you are a pharmacist in another state, you should check with your state board for approval of this credit.

California Psychologists: The California Board of Psychology recognizes and accepts for continuing education credit courses that are provided by entities approved by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). AMA PRA Category 1 Credit^TM is acceptable to meeting the CE requirements for the California Board of Psychology. Providers in other states should check with their state boards for acceptance of CME credit.

 

Cancellation Policy

Although each activity will have its own cancellation policy, in general, cancellations received in writing no less than 7 days prior to the start of an activity will be refunded, less a $75 administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests through our Refund Request form.

UCSF Office of CME reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets, hotel penalties, or other related personal expenses.
