Overview

The UCSF Office of Continuing Medical Education (OCME) is now accepting proposals for new continuing education programs to be scheduled in our upcoming programming calendar. UCSF faculty are invited to submit innovative proposals or in-person, virtual, or hybrid courses that reflect the evolving needs of today’s healthcare workforce.

Due to high demand for OCME planning and administrative services, proposals will be reviewed through a competitive application process this year.

This is an exciting opportunity to reimagine the delivery of continuing education – integrating new learning modalities, fostering interprofessional collaboration, and creating meaningful engagement for learners across disciplines.

What We Are Looking For

Proposed programs should be:

  • Innovative and learner-centered: Addressing current and emerging trends in medicine, science, and health care delivery.

  • Interprofessional: Encouraging collaboration across clinical disciplines and professional roles.

  • Financially viable: Featuring realistic budgets and sustainable program design

  • Collaborative: Developed in partnership with OCME’s planning, marketing, registration, and accreditation teams

  • Compliant: Aligned with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) accreditation standards

  • Planned in advance: Ideally submitted 12 months prior to the intended course date to ensure adequate time for contracting, planning, and execution

How to Submit Your Proposal

  1. Review the proposal evaluation rubric

  2. Prepare your proposal, including:

    • Program title and topic area

    • Educational need or gap the activity will address

    • Intended audience and anticipated learner outcomes

    • Proposed format (in-person, virtual, or hybrid)

    • Financial goals and high-level budget considerations

  3. Submit your program proposal by 9:00 am on Monday, December 15, 2025.

  4. Next steps:  Proposals will be reviewed by OCME faculty and staff using the rubric. Authors of the highest-ranked submissions will be invited to discuss program development.

  5. UCSF does not use race, gender, sex, or other protected categories or proxies for protected categories in the selection process.

Select the  ABSTRACTS  tab above to begin.

For questions or assistance with your submission, please contact:

The UCSF Office of Continuing Medical Education (OCME) invites the submission of new ideas for live (in person or virtual) continuing education programs for health professionals to be offered in collaboration with the OCME conference management planning team.

Due to the high demand for event planning services, OCME will be using a competitive application process this year.

Please review the full rubric that will be used to evaluate the submitted proposals. Depending on the proposals submitted, we anticipate another call for proposals in approximately 6 months.

Qualification criteria include:

  1. Relevance to UCSF's Mission
  2. Interprofessional Focus
  3. Instructional Methods and Learner Engagement
