Pediatric Hospital Medicine Faculty Development Series (2025-2026)

This is a continuation of an existing CME activity in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM), aimed at addressing additional practice gaps and maintaining competencies for PHM Faculty and fellows. Pediatric Hospital Medicine is a rapidly expanding field and was approved by the American Board of Medical Subspecialties to become the next ACGME-accredited pediatric subspecialty. There have been important developments in PHM including creation of core competencies and PHM-specific entrustable professional activities (EPAs). Furthermore, with ACGME accreditation of UCSF’s PHM Fellowship approaching in the next year, ACGME will require that the faculty supervising our trainees receive adequate faculty development.

1. Apply new skills for interpretation of biostatistics, research design, basic epidemiology, and ethics in research to critically appraise the literature with greater acumen
2. Refine my own research practices
3. Identify opportunities for systems enhancements to improve safety and/or reduce inequity
4. Use strategies to address or minimize the presence of bias and racism in clinical practice
5. Apply new knowledge learned to the management of complicated presentations
6. Refine the use of evidence-based guidelines in my practice
7. Implement and/or evaluate quality improvement projects related to patient cases
8. Better recognize sources of risk to patient safety
9. Identify health systems issues relevant to the practice of PHM including, communication, cost-effective care, ethics and medical education.

In support of improving patient care, the University of California, San Francisco Office of CME is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received in writing at least 30 days before the conference start date will receive a refund of registration fees minus a [10%] administrative fee. Requests received between 30 days and 14 days before the start date will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued within 14 days of the start date. Please send cancellation requests through our Refund Request form.
 
UCSF Office of CME reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred, such as non-refundable airline tickets, hotel penalties, or other related personal expenses.
