Overview
The Diabetes Update section on Thursday focuses on new ideas and therapies relevant to patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Advances in Endocrinology and Metabolism on Friday and Saturday will provide the clinician with updated, pragmatic information about the management of common endocrinologic and metabolic problems, as well as insight into important current areas in clinical research. Formal presentations will be accompanied by question and answer periods with general discussion. Clinical cases will focus on common endocrine problems encountered in clinical practice.

Objectives
As a result of the education, I intend to:

  1. DIABETES UPDATE - Understand how stem cells can be used to make new islets to cure type 1 diabetes
  2. DIABETES UPDATE - Appreciate long term impact of GLP1 receptor agonists/SGLT2 inhibitors and manage any complications associated with use
  3. DIABETES UPDATE - Assess and initiate pump therapy in people with type 1 diabetes
  4. DIABETES UPDATE - Identify people at very high risk for type 1 diabetes and treating them to delay the onset of disease
  5. DIABETES UPDATE - Understand how ectopic adipose tissue disorders cause disease and what can be done to treat them
  6. DIABETES UPDATE - Understand available treatments for diabetic eye diseases
  7. DIABETES UPDATE - Use current therapies to enable patients reach their glucose targets
  8. DIABETES UPDATE - Understand the role of diabetes in causing cognitive disorders
  9. ADVANCES IN ENDOCRINOLOGY & METABOLISM - Understand the mechanisms, efficacy and safety profiles of current pharmacologic therapies and apply evidence-based data to optimize the evaluation and management of osteoporosis
  10. ADVANCES IN ENDOCRINOLOGY & METABOLISM - Identify the factors linking adiposity and bone density; formulate strategies to mitigate bone loss in patients undergoing weight reduction
  11. ADVANCES IN ENDOCRINOLOGY & METABOLISM - Recognize common causes of low bone density and fragility fractures in young adults; develop diagnostic and management plan tailored to younger patients with low bone density
  12. ADVANCES IN ENDOCRINOLOGY & METABOLISM - Summarize and integrate the genetic, biochemical and clinical predictors of metastatic behaviors in pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma into individualized surveillance and management strategies
  13. ADVANCES IN ENDOCRINOLOGY & METABOLISM - Describe the role of ultrasound-based risk stratification systems and apply current guidelines to FNA decision making and follow up recommendations
  14. ADVANCES IN ENDOCRINOLOGY & METABOLISM - Review the molecular predictors of radioactive iodine resistance and Integrate emerging molecular + clinical data to guide personalized management strategies in advanced differentiated thyroid cancers
  15. ADVANCES IN ENDOCRINOLOGY & METABOLISM - Review the conventional treatment strategies for Graves’ disease along with emerging and investigational therapies to optimize Graves’ disease management

Cancellations received in writing at least 30 days before the conference start date will receive a refund of registration fees minus a [10%] administrative fee. Requests received between 30 days and 14 days before the start date will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued within 14 days of the start date. UCSF Office of CME reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred, such as non-refundable airline tickets, hotel penalties, or other related personal expenses.

UCSF Office of Continuing Medical Education reserves the right to deny any application. UCSF OCME will acknowledge exhibitor(s) support in course materials as permissible by the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education.

The exhibitor acknowledges that conducting marketing or promotional activities in any conference area except for their assigned exhibit space is prohibited. Exhibitors/Vendors may not engage in sales, promotional activities, or distribute product-specific advertisements while in the designated location of the CME activity. CME activity space includes, but is not limited to, lecture halls, breakout rooms, and laboratory areas.

Exhibitors and UCSF OCME agree to abide by the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited CE. Payment Deadline & Late Fee Policy

Exhibitor payment is due in full by the March 18, 2026 (webpage and exhibitor agreement form). A $500 late fee will apply to any payments received after the posted deadline.

To avoid a late fee and ensure participation, proof of payment (such as a check copy, electronic payment confirmation, or remittance advice) must be submitted by the deadline.

Please note that exhibit placement and promotional benefits are not guaranteed until full payment and proof of payment are received.
