Training on Contraceptive Options, Including IUDs & Implants

Beyond the Pill has successfully trained thousands of health care providers, including community clinics, school health centers, hospitals, agencies with multiple clinics, and peer education groups. Our training program is a proven way to reduce unintended pregnancies, increase provider knowledge and skills for offering IUDs and implants, and improve patients' access to the full range of contraceptive methods. We have trained over 15,000 providers, reaching over 10 million contraceptive clients.

Key features of online training

  • Designed for all health staff, including clinicians, educators, counselors, social workers and administrative staff.

  • Self-paced with videos, case studies and interactive quizzes.

 Curriculum for online training

  1. Introduction to different types of IUDs and the contraceptive implant.

  2. How to use the CDC’s Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive Use.

  3. Addressing common misinformation about highly effective methods.

  4. Review of counseling approaches designed to support patients in making voluntary and informed choices about contraception.
